Tonight’s unveiling ceremony for the Fox Theatre renovation project was attended by Garbutt and other special invitees in Atlanta, Georgia. In late summer 2016 Garbutt Construction Company was hand-picked to oversee construction of what will be The Fabulous Fox Theatre’s most significant investment since the 1970s. The project will include the addition of two, high-end rooftop plazas and a 10,000 sf prestigious lounge for VIP guests and premium ticket holders. The new rooftop terrace will be accessed from the existing Egyptian ballroom and feature Art Deco and Moroccan-style architecture complimentary to the structure’s existing 1928 design. Full service beverage and food amenities will be built into the space overlooking midtown Atlanta’s prominent Peachtree Street NE. The indoor lounge will offer an equally, luxurious experience and include provisions for enhanced dining service as well as concierge services. This space, designed to mimic star gazing similar to that of the theatre, will be built in time for the anticipated 2017 Broadway season. Sean Moxley, Garbutt’s President will serve as project executive for construction commencing in early 2017 and concluding in the fall. “To have the opportunity to work on a project of this wonder is truly a dream come true. The entire Garbutt team is honored to be a part of the Fox Story, says Moxley.”
Notorious for work on well-known landmarks throughout the state, Garbutt Construction Company was chosen for the job after competing with the Southeast’s finest construction companies in a selection process. Garbutt will work with Lord Aeck Sargent Architecture and Collins Project Management, both Atlanta based firms. Garbutt is grateful to be a part of this grand project and add the Fox as a valued client.
