Today at Southern Crescent Technical College (SCTC) in McDonough, Georgia, workers focus on meticulous details as Garbutt Construction Company nears completion of this significant addition for students in Georgia. This campus just south of Atlanta will serve multiple counties surrounding the metro area as a training center that is desperately needed as Georgia continues to solve the need for skilled workers. Sharing a passion for workforce development, Garbutt Construction and its valued subcontractors are happy to complete this project alongside Praxis3 design team, Georgia State Finance & Investment Commission, and The Technical College System of Georgia.

Mr. Garbutt, who has been recognized for his own personal achievement in workforce development, visits the job site routinely incorporating Lean Construction techniques to tackle the complex project and timeline. The 83,000 sf facility containing administrative space, classrooms, automotive training including mechanic and collision, a simulated medical facility, and an MRI training lab, is geared toward hands-on learning in every aspect. Garbutt credits Lean Construction and Pull Planning for overcoming many technical, weather, and operational challenges. Pull Planning continues to prove itself to be a mechanism for success.
