Academic and Student Success Renovation

Garbutt Construction Company, alongside 2WR Architecture, brought two mid-century buildings back to life for Middle Georgia State University. This project covered Roberts Library and Dillard Hall, two vital facilities on the university’s Cochran campus. The overall goal of the project was to optimize the use of each building by organizing university functions between and within the two separate facilities. Roberts Library was renovated into a 21st century learning commons center while Dillard Hall now houses the Department of Nursing and the Department of Rehabilitation Science. While each building was originally built with a different purpose in mind, the renovations paid tribute to the original elements of each building while successfully serving Middle Georgia State University’s new purposes. We are confident that the buildings will meet the needs of Middle Georgia State University students for decades to come.
