As CEO of Garbutt Construction Company founded in 1976, Charlie Garbutt oversees the strategic direction and growth of the firm. He is responsible for company operations at the executive level where the firm serves as construction manager, general contractor, and design-builder throughout the state of Georgia. Garbutt Construction has earned a position of high regard as evidenced by its diverse portfolio of projects. Charlie is an emeritus member of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia Facility Advisory Board, emeritus board member for Georgia Southern University’s Construction Management Industry Advisory council, past president of the AGC Georgia association and the Dublin Rotary Club. In addition to his Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction Management from Auburn University, he is LEED AP certified and certified constructor by the American Institute of Constructors. Charlie currently serves on AGC Georgia’s Board of Directors and is recognized state-wide for his vision and commitment to the industry.
In 2014, Charlie became one of Georgia’s first Lean Construction Education Professionals, a designation earned at the AGC national level. Charlie devotes much of his time to teaching staff at Garbutt Construction Company and industry colleagues the advantages of a “leaner” construction industry.
