Women-Owned Small Business (WOSM) Certification
Issued in 2011 by the U. S. Small Business Administration to Garbutt Contracting Company owned 51% by Ms. J. Charlie Garbutt and 49% by Mr. Charlie Garbutt. This company is an affiliate of the umbrella company, Garbutt Construction Company, for owners who are looking for a minority partner and want to use set-aside contract dollars.
Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBzone) Certification
Granted by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) in 2008 and recertified in 2012. This program allows small businesses in rural and urban communities to gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities.
Drug-Free Workplace Certification
Issued and renewed annually by the State of Georgia where all Garbutt Construction employees are tested at the time of hire and subject to random drug screenings as part of our company’s ongoing safety program. This certification earns our firm a 7-12% discount on insurance premiums for workman’s comp insurance and these premiums are mandated by the State.
